Zico Coconut Water w/Pineapple & Citrus Flavors review

Zico Coconut Water Pineapple & Citrus Flavored

Fun Evening

Last night was Halloween. As always, I was rushing around getting the kids ready for the evening and didn’t get a chance to  eat dinner. The kids were excited and crazy, so I decided to “numb my nerves” and fill a coffee mug with an alcoholic beverage while I follow them around the neighborhood.  My evening diet consisted of wine, candy and a few specs of dinner.

Tough Morning

Needless to say,  I didn’t feel great this morning. Therefore, I decided it was a good morning to try the Zico Pure Premium Coconut water I had in my frig.  I understand that coconut water is extremely healthy and can help with hangovers.

My Impression

My impression of this product is that it must be healthy, because it looks like a medicine bottle and it sure doesn’t taste good.  There is a nice strong sweet orange and pineapple aroma that comes from the beverage. Not strong enough, though, to cover the rancid fat note that comes out at the end.

Yuck!  I do not want to drink any of it, but it does make me feel better. My teeth don’t feel like they are covered with socks and I feel refreshed and re-hydrated. The nutrition panel on Zico states that 1 bottle has 60 calories, 7% DV of Calcium, 16% DV of potassium and 9% DV of Magnesium. Sugar might help round out this drink and cover the yucky rancid fat note, but then it probably wouldn’t be too healthy. Zico Coconut water contains only 100% natural coconut water from concentrate, natural flavors and citric acid.

Coconut water is not inexpensive, $2/bottle, but I will buy some more to have on hand around the holidays (in case I over indulge).

I did not like Zico Pineapple Orange , so I will try the banana coconut water next time. If you are interested in learning more about coconut water, see Coconutwaterlife.com.
